FADER MoMA PS1 Warm Up Mix: Shlohmo

For those of you who don’t know, every Saturday of the summer MoMA PS1 presents ‘Warm Up’, an event series taking place at a sister site of MoMa in Long Island City, Queens. Each Saturday’s line-up is curated by a team of heavyweights within up-and-coming music labels such as True Panther Sounds, XL Recordings, Tri Angle Records, and DFA Records. The FADER wants to make sure we’re ready for what’s to come for each weekend of PS1 Warm Up so they’re giving us a pre-Warm Up, like foreplay for music, by posting exclusive mixes from the artists performing. This week The FADER presents a mix from Los Angeles’ producer Shlohmo (Henry Laufer) who’s featuring a re-rubbed and screwed version of Christina Aguilera’s “Genie in a Bottle” in this mix, seriously. You may recognize Shlohmo’s name from when we featured his music video for “The Way U Do” a few months ago. Download the mix below and see Shlohmo, along with Photek, Morgan Geist, Autre Ne Veut and Howse this Saturday if you’re in New York. Check out the schedule for the rest of summer here.
